As part of their initiative to reintroduce digital skills into student’s post-16 curriculum, Cirencester College in Gloucestershire has recently opened a newly built Digital Skills Centre. The development was funded through the Governments ‘Getting Building Fund’ programme through GFirst LEP.
The new facility aims to reintroduce digital skills post-16 and helps to train students in the skills and knowledge needed to step into the ever-growing world of the Cyber and Digital Sectors.
Architects Roberts Limbrick designed the centre so that it uses cutting-edge technology while having a flexible and collaborative environment. KI’s Learn2 chair with a Strive shell complements the desired space as it provides an easy-to-move seating and worksurface solution.
The worksurface that accompanies the Learn2 frame swivels 154 degrees to provide “handed” applications and can also be moved in and out for adjustable “belly room”. The chair features a poly book rack, an upholstered seat pad, carpet castors, a starlight silver frame, and a blue grey shell.
KI’s Ricochet stool has also been utilised in the main lobby area to allow students to have a quick break between classes. The slightly concave seat pad with textured surface adds comfort, while its 12-degree rocking motion keeps the brain active by allowing the body to fidget.
The colour scheme chosen for both products includes a range of greys, including Starlight Silver for the Learn2 frames, Blue Grey for the Strive shell and the Ricochet seat pad, a Warm Grey for the Learn2 worksurface, and an Ash Grey for the Ricochet shell. The upholstered seat pad on the Strive shell was finished in Panaz Harvard Forest Green 229.
