Safetred Serenity: designed for its next life

Inspired by nature, Safetred Serenity offers a new, inclusive and sustainable solution to the existing Safetred portfolio.

Designed to blend seamlessly in any environment, this multifunctional collection offers a calm and serene pallet as standard, which is DSDC accredited – lending itself perfectly to education facilities that require inclusive spaces that accommodates all students, irrespective of their abilities, or neurotypes.

Protecting people and planet

Safetred Serenity can help create a safer environment for education facilities. Its R11 slip resistance helps reduce the risk of slips, trips and falls, which is crucial for protecting students, staff and visitors from accidents and injuries. Additionally, the flooring is suitable for both barefoot and shod application, making it ideal for students that need to walk around barefoot during physical education or in changing rooms. At the same time, when wearing shoes, you will also benefit from the slip-resistant surface should spillages or wet weather occur.

Not only is this collection excellent for keeping people safe, it’s also an excellent choice for schools that are committed to sustainable design. This eco-friendly floor is manufactured using 100% recycled and re-circulated industrial water and contains around 40% recycled content. Containing no phthalates or biocides the floor has VOC levels below quantifiable levels which makes it the ideal choice to support people’s health and well-being, particularly for those with asthma.

In addition to its eco-friendly qualities, Safetred Serenity can be installed without the use of adhesives in all areas bar wet rooms, which reduces its environmental impact even further and saves on installation time. Moreover, the installation off-cuts, production waste, and post-use adhesive-free floors can be fully recycled at our in-house recycling facility in Kent.  This means that Safetred Serenity provides education facilities with a sustainable flooring solution that is not only practical but also contributes to a greener future.

A truly British safety floor solution

The Safetred collection comes from a rich heritage that goes back to the late 1970s where Marley Flooring launched the first Safetred floor, Safetred Aqua. With a unique construction, that included cork, the floor was a flexible wet room solution, perfect for coving and installing into drains and falls.

Now part of the Tarkett family and wanting to pay homage to this wet room collection that was retired some years ago, the team started working on a new solution: a practical, multifunctional, and hard-wearing safety floor, that was suitable for any space, no matter the style. A collection of serene tones inspired by the UK's craggy coastlines, sandy beaches, misty mountains, babbling brooks and starry nights, came together to form Safetred Serenity, which offers designers a myriad of opportunities for creative exploration.

Safetred Serenity is a beautiful and practical flooring option that ticks all the boxes. It's sustainably produced, inclusive, multifunctional, and can blend seamlessly into any environment. With over 40 years of pioneering British manufacturing heritage, the Safetred Serenity collection remains consciously designed for its next life.
