First fire suppression purchasing system launched by Fusion 21

Procurement organisation Fusion21 has launched its national dynamic purchasing system (DPS) for fire suppression systems and associated works - the first on the market to provide a complete fire safety solution suitable for the education sector and all public sector buildings.

Worth up to £150 million over a five year period, there are three specialised lots to select from: Lot 1: Management of the Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Fire Suppression Systems & Fire Safety Works (worth £100 million); Lot 2: Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Sprinkler Systems (worth £30 million) and Lot 3: Design, Supply, Installation and Maintenance of Water Mist & Associated Systems (worth £20 million).

The purchasing system has been commissioned in response to feedback from Fusion21 members and will remain open for new suppliers throughout its duration – creating a more competitive environment and ensuring members always have access to the best fire safety services and expertise on the market.

Using this approach members will secure greater efficiency savings and value for money, whilst accessing a procurement route that has the flexibility to respond to any future changes in legislation or within the wider marketplace.

Nick Verburg, Procurement and Supply Chain Manager at Fusion21 said: “We’ve seen an increased demand from our members to procure fire safety measures, as the country remains focused on ensuring all properties and buildings meet correct fire safety standards. This DPS builds upon our already established fire safety offer so members will soon be able to access additional fire safety works, delivering best value fire suppression systems and other elements of fire safety works as part of this package.”

The application process is focused solely on experience and capability to ensure only specialist suppliers are appointed. Fusion21 welcomes applications from interested organisations that meet the criteria set out in the tender documentation.
