ESFA unveils latest contractor list, and modular is ‘in’

The Educations Skills and Funding Agency (ESDA) has selected 33 contractors for its new school building framework. In line with the Government’s Budget blessing for modular construction, a number of offsite and modular contractors are on the list, including Net Zero Buildings and Styles & Wood.

Their inclusion follows the appointments last September of Caledonian as one of the approved suppliers on the £50m Education and Skills Funding Agency programme for the design and build of modular primary schools procured directly by Central Government.

The latest list of contractors is as follows:

Projects over £12m

  • North: BAM, Galliford Try, Kier, Wates and Willmott Dixon
  • South: BAM, Bouygues UK, Bowmer & Kirkland, Kier, Sir Robert McAlpine, Wates and Willmott Dixon

Projects between £4.5m and £12m

  • North East and Yorkshire: Bowmer & Kirkland, Clugston, Henry Boot, Interserve, Morgan Sindall and Robertson Group
  • East Midlands: Bouygues UK, Bowmer & Kirkland, Henry Boot, Interserve, ISG and Morgan Sindall
  • East of England: Farrans Construction, Galliford Try, Interserve, ISG, Morgan Sindall, Styles & Wood and McAvoy
